Diversity Frisco

Diversity Frisco began as a program of Frisco Pride around 2014 during a time of great transition within the LGBTQ+ community. The Supreme Court of the United States had recently overturned the Defense of Marriage Act, and later then declared same-sex marriage to be lawful across the Union.

As the barriers that divided our country were being torn down, Diversity Frisco was formed to become a part of the movement to help educate our city leaders, community leaders, and our neighbors on the value of a welcoming and diverse community.

Much of the work of Diversity Frisco has been behind the scenes with discussions, communications, and in-person meetings. Being a part of the solution is a strong driver within the organization, and our focus has been to continue to bridge our diverse communities, not just within the LGTBQ+ community, but also race, ethnicity, gender, and beliefs.
