The Big D Rodeo (the gay rodeo!)

Howdy Folks, (Big Tex talking)

The Big D Rodeo (its the TGRA gay rodeo) will be in Dallas this year instead of over in Fort Worth. The rodeo is on Saturday and Sunday March 3rd and 4th. The rodeo starts between 8am and 9. It will last till about 5pm depending on how many contestants there are. You will see plenty if you are there from about 11 am or 12. Any profit from the rodeo goes to 501(c) charities in the TGRA chapter cities. The rodeo will be held in the Fair Park complex down in Dallas.

There is a price break available on the tickets if they are purchased by 9pm Friday March 2nd. Here is the link to the web site http://www.tgra.org/cms_rodeos/tickets.html The tickets are normally $15 a piece but they are doing 2 tickets for $25 if purchased in advance. You can either use both tickets for the same day (you and a friend) or buy the tickets and go to each day's performance. There will be vendors there and it is usually a lot of fun.

I would recommend you car pool as much as possible. There are several events going in in Fair Park and it seems we will have to pay to park this year. It is out of TGRA's hands about having to pay to park. We normally do not have to pay for parking at our rodeos.

This TGRA rodeo is part of the IGRA. IGRA sanctions the rodeo. If any are there and would like to get a look at what it takes to make a rodeo happen I will try and arrange to be able to take you behind the scenes and show you the barn area, show you the chutes, the bulls, the steers, and so forth. The rodeo officials are all volunteers that have given their time and effort to get trained and certified. We have lots of lots of other volunteers as well all there working to produce the rodeo.

I hope some of you will come down and see the gay rodeo! Let me know if you have questions.

Ye Haw ... ouch watch them spurs ...
